While orthopaedic surgery can be complex and highly specialised, our team is equipped to manage a number of important procedures in-house, as well as guide you when more advanced care is needed.
Procedures we commonly perform at Peak Vets include:
- Bone biopsies – used to diagnose conditions such as infections or bone tumours, helping us determine the most effective treatment plan
- Bandaging and casting – providing stabilisation and support for certain fractures or soft tissue injuries, especially where surgery may not be immediately required
- Limb amputations – in cases of severe injury or bone cancer, this can be the most humane option and often results in excellent quality of life for pets
For more advanced orthopaedic procedures—such as complex fracture repairs, ligament surgeries, or spinal operations—we work closely with experienced specialist surgeons. These cases often require highly specific equipment and expertise, particularly for small animals and equine patients.
